Barbie® Accessory Sets Lead Paint Hazard Recall

Mattel, in cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission is voluntarily recalling seven Barbie® pet and furniture playsets.  The recalled products were sold in retail stores nationwide from October 2006 to September 2007.

These toys were painted by a specific subcontractor during a limited timeframe.   Mattel has identified the particular pigment that was contaminated and has confirmed that only certain parts from these sets are impacted.  Paint on the affected parts contains lead in excess of permissible levels.

Lead is toxic if ingested and can cause adverse health effects.

Mattel has also confirmed the limited dates of manufacture impacted by this recall.   Use this online guide to determine if the product you own is affected by this recall.   Please remove any affected parts from the hands of children, immediately.
