• First, ensure that the car is specifically meant for the Apptivity Hot Wheels game, and not a regular Hot Wheels car. You will be able to tell whether it is for Apptivity by looking for the contact points on the bottom of the car.
• Ensure that the contact points are extended rather than retracted. There is a button on the bottom of the car that allows you to switch between traditional Hot Wheels car play (retracted) and Apptivity mode (extended).
• Check the bottom of the car for debris, and wipe it with a clean, dry cloth.
• Wipe your screen with a soft, dry cloth to ensure the best conductivity with the car.
• Make sure you are holding the car in the right location in order for it to be recognized.
  • Hold it in the center and on the sides of the car while the tires are on the screen.
  • Make sure that you are not placing the car on the black or white frame around the iPad screen. You must keep the car only within the screen area.
  • Do not wear gloves or mittens since the car needs to come in contact with your fingertips.

In order for the Wild Thing™ to operate correctly, there must be weight in the seat. When your child leans forward in the seat or lifts their bottom off the seat, the seat switch will open and the vehicle will stop. For best results, make sure your little one stays seated at all times with their back against the seat.

Use the circular stencil tool to add detail to your artwork. First fully insert the pen until you hear/feel it click and adjust the spray nozzle until you get a nice even spray. Then plug the circular stencil tool directly onto the end of the airbrush tip. Rotate the stencil to select the artwork that you would like to apply. The art should be centered over the spray tip and applied to the car in close range.

You need to fine tune the spray nozzle by turning the adjustment nozzle all the way to the negative side (-). Then while holding the trigger down, slowly adjust the nozzle toward the positive side (+) until you get a nice even spray. You should also make sure that the pen is fully inserted by pushing it all the way into the slot on the spray gun until you hear/feel it click.

• If you cannot press the handle down, have an adult unplug the machine, wait ten seconds and then plug it back in to reset. Car Maker will automatically go into the cooling cycle. Do not unplug during this time. After you hear “Cooling Complete” and the door opens, try the following:
• Check the mold for blockage. See CLEANING section in the instruction sheet.
• Look into the front window on the machine. Ensure that there is a wax stick in the heating chamber and that the wax stick above it is properly aligned.

The action button is the button on the hood of the car that you can press down in order to start the game, activate weapons, enter buildings and other zones, and more.

You need the appropriate piece of equipment, such as a flotation device, big-wheel tires or wings, to access certain areas. You can get this equipment in the Workshop, which you can find by following the green tool icon, then pressing the action button once you arrive at the Workshop hangar.

After the figures are connected, cranked up and the head is pushed, the “wrestling” feature does not last long.

• Crank the lever clockwise until it clicks, usually about 11 times, for full power battling. 

• Touch the screen with your finger to move forward to the next page.
• If the game keeps freezing, try doing a hard reset. 
  • Click the home button on your iPad to get to the home screen.
  • Then double-click the home button again. The multitasking bar will appear. 
  • Touch the thumbnail of the Apptivity game until it wiggles, and then touch the minus button. 
  • Then click the home button again, and restart the game by clicking the thumbnail for the game on your home screen.

• If your car body came out only partially completed, see instructional video or try the following:
• Ensure you are inserting enough wax sticks into the machine and they are positioned next to each other in the proper alignment (point side down).  Remember, it’s normal for one of the wax sticks to protrude from the top.
• Ensure the handle is pulled all the way down in one continuous motion and the injection is completed within 2-3 seconds until you hear “Complete.”

• Ensure the mold has been thoroughly cleaned before starting your cycle.

The various colored icons are meant to direct you to the different hangars in the Hot Wheels Test Facility.  The red diamond icon takes you to the Search and Destroy Hangar, the yellow triangle icon takes you to the Long Jump Hangar, and the blue circle icon takes you to the Race Hangar. The green tool icon will allow you to upgrade your vehicle in the workshop.

You should hear/feel it click when you push the pen down into its slot on the spray gun.

You can, but the adhesive should be applied to a clean, smooth, dry surface when the temperature is above 50°F (10°C). If the temperature is below 50°F, you can heat the surface with a hair dryer before application.

You should pull the car back so that your car stays in that location on the screen.

The more you play the game, the more credits you earn. You can redeem credits in the workshop.  Your credits are listed in the top right corner of the screen.
