- Playing with InteracTV requires you to insert an activity card into the controller. When inserting the activity card, make sure to point the controller at the DVD player.
If the controller is programmed correctly, the footage on the TV should change when the activity card is inserted. Some DVD players respond slower than others, so give it a second. The wait should be no longer than 5 seconds.
Footage of your favorite TV character will play on the TV. At some point the character will ask the child a question and footage on the TV screen will match the icons on the activity card. Wait for the character to finish asking the question or giving directions.
Then you can input your answer by pressing one of the icons on the activity card. Make sure the controller is pointed at the DVD player when you do this. Your selected answer should light up on the TV screen and the footage should continue.
At anytime you can press either the forward or back arrows to forward to the next section or skip back to the previous section. The green indication light will light up whenever you press an icon or arrow button.
Removing the activity card brings you back to the main menu screen. You can then put in a different activity card and continue playing. An activity card must be in the unit in order for the controller to work.

If all codes in the instruction manual have been tried unsuccessfully or your brand of DVD player is not listed, it is possible that the code for your DVD player may still be in the controller. You may be able to find the code using the manual search method.
- Make sure the controller has good batteries and slide the 3 position memory switch on the back of the controller to the desired memory position.
- Insert the compilation DVD into the DVD player and turn on the DVD player and TV.
- Insert the programming card into the controller, the green light should blink twice.
- Point the controller at the DVD player and press the left arrow key.
- Continue to press the left arrow key at a 1 second interval. Be sure to watch to see if the power to the DVD player turns off.
- If the power to the DVD player turns off stop and remove the programming card. Turn the DVD player back on. Play the disk and allow the DVD footage to play through until it gets to the screen, which shows the 5 different activity cards.
- Insert the test card into the controller, the green light should blink twice.
- The DVD should skip to the test screen, if it does not remove the test card and re-insert the programming card and continue from step 5.
This process may take a while. If you press the left arrow button more than 300 times and the green light no longer blinks, it is possible that your DVD player's code is not supported by this version of the controller. Verify version and if new version includes more codes for their DVD player. If so, send a new controller. If no new codes have been added to their brand of DVD player, you will need to follow the service policy, return for voucher or refund.
If the test card skips to the footage, which resembles the test card then proceed with testing the controller. See Testing the unit section of your manual or quick set up instructions.

If you are stuck in an activity after repeated attempts to remove and insert an activity card, please place the activity card back into the InteracTV controller and wait for the next activity to appear on the screen. When the next activity appears on the screen, remove the card from your InteracTV controller. The menu screen should now appear on the screen. If the menu screen does not appear on your screen you need to restart the InteracTV DVD. Press stop on your DVD player and then press play to restart the DVD.

- Insert the test card. If the DVD skips to the test screen, press each letter A-I on the test card and wait for the corresponding letter to light up on the TV screen before pressing the next letter. If each of the letters successfully lights up, press each of the two arrow buttons and wait for the arrow button to light up on the TV screen before pressing the next arrow button.
- If all the buttons light up, remove the test card. The footage should now display a screen with 3 activity cards on it (menu screen). If so, you have successfully programmed the controller.
- Insert an activity card you are now ready to play. See the "Playing with InteracTV" section of your manual.
- If all the buttons do not light up or you return to the menu screen when the card is removed (the controller is only partially functional), it is possible there is a different code which will give the controller full functionality. Try programming a different code using one of the two programming methods. See Programming the remote using Manufacturer’s codes section or Programming the unit using the manual search method section of your manual.
- If you have exhausted all the codes and none of them gives you full functionality, (changing a macro may help) see the "Using Macros" section of your manual.
