If you hear “Error,” ask an adult to unplug Car Maker from the wall, wait ten seconds and then plug it back in to reset. Car Maker may automatically go into the cooling cycle. Do not unplug during this time. If you continue to hear “Error” after multiple resets, this may be an indication of a mechanical problem with the door switch; please contact Consumer Services via service.mattel.com for assistance.

Yes, for best results, allow the wax to cool for a few minutes before opening the mold. Twist the mold slightly (as you would an ice cube tray) to break the wax free. You can also run the mold under cold water, which will help speed up the cooling process. If the car body is wet, be sure to dry it completely before applying labels. Remove car body from the mold within 10 minutes. If the body is left in the mold for any longer, the wax may begin to crack.

The very first time you use Car Maker, you need to insert 2 wax sticks. Car Maker comes pre-loaded with 1 wax stick. The second stick you insert is not meant to fit completely inside the machine – it will protrude through the top. After you have made your very first car, only 1 additional wax stick needs to be inserted every time. Please note that ALL wax sticks must be inserted with the point side down.

You can combine your pens to get more color combinations. For example, you can get green by applying blue and yellow inks over each other. First apply a thin layer of one color until you get the desired coverage, then switch pens and apply an even layer of your second ink. Try making your own combinations!

On
the underside of the launcher, each end of the rubber band should be wrapped
around a peg on each side of the main launcher and then doubled up and hooked
around the center tab of the moveable portion of the launcher.
Here is a picture of an assembled rubber band launcher!

The Hot Wheels Car Maker Troubleshooting Guide will help with any questions that arise during the car making process.

You need to fine tune the spray nozzle by turning the adjustment nozzle all the way to the negative side (-). Then while holding the trigger down, slowly adjust the nozzle toward the positive side (+) until you get a nice even spray. You should also make sure that the pen is fully inserted by pushing it all the way into the slot on the spray gun until you hear/feel it click.
|
First insert the flexible stencils into the frame with the built-in peg fitting. Connect the frame onto the four posts on top of the car decoration turntable, and then adjust the height of the frame for tall and low cars by using the two detent locations. Remember that in order to spray using stencil, the airbrush must face directly down over the top of the car and spray through the stencil.
|
- If you have inserted different colored wax sticks next to each other, you may get some color blending (in which the wax from the two adjacent sticks mix when creating the car body).
|
You can, but the adhesive should be applied to a clean, smooth, dry surface when the temperature is above 50°F (10°C). If the temperature is below 50°F, you can heat the surface with a hair dryer before application.

Once Car Maker instructs you to pull the handle, you must immediately pull it all the way down in one continuous motion until you hear “Complete.” For best results, DO NOT pump handle when pulling it down and complete the injection within 2-3 seconds. If you do not pull it all the way down to complete the injection, Car Maker will keep repeating the phrase, “Please pull down handle.”

To clean the ink off of your car, rub it with a damp cloth and start again!
|
Make sure the pen is fully inserted by pushing it all the way into the slot on the spray gun until you hear/feel it click. Start spraying with the nozzle adjuster pointed all the way toward the negative side (-) and, while holding the trigger down, slowly move the adjuster toward the positive side (+) until you get a nice even spray. If you’re still having issues, please refer to the troubleshooting section below.

Use the circular stencil tool to add detail to your artwork. First fully insert the pen until you hear/feel it click and adjust the spray nozzle until you get a nice even spray. Then plug the circular stencil tool directly onto the end of the airbrush tip. Rotate the stencil to select the artwork that you would like to apply. The art should be centered over the spray tip and applied to the car in close range.

Push the handle on the far right counterclockwise all the way to the ground and the car platform will tip forward, allowing your car to roll out.
